The new energy modelling tool PyPSA-PL-mini is now available on GitHub. Unlike large and detailed models, PyPSA-PL-mini is ideally suited for less advanced users as a key to understanding the energy system. The model’s launch was joined with an online webinar hosted by Instrat’s energy modeller Patryk Kubiczek.
During the panel, Patryk explained how the model works in practice and what answers it can offer users. The webinar allowed us to address questions such as:
- How does the forced operation of conventional power plants in the base affect electricity market dynamics and system costs? [link to PyPSA-PL-mini notebook]
- What would be the cost-optimal electricity generation mix in Poland in 2023, assuming that new infrastructure can be developed immediately? How does carbon pricing affect this mix? [link to PyPSA-PL-mini notebook]
The meeting took place on 24 April, at 11:00 am CEST.
