The nuances of dynamically evolving energy systems can be challenging to grasp, even for analysts or experienced journalists dealing with the energy industry. Large and detailed models, essential for accurate planning, may not be the best tool for understanding the complexities of energy systems, which was the motivation for Instrat experts to create PyPSA-PL-mini. The new exploratory model will be a key and useful tool for an in-depth understanding of energy systems.
The premiere of PyPSA-PL-mini will be joined with an online webinar in English, where Instrat’s energy modelling expert, Patryk Kubiczek, will present the simplified and fast-operating version of our in-house energy model.
The model is based on Python and can be run online. Attendees will learn how PyPSA-PL-mini works in practice and what questions it can answer. During the webinar, Instrat expert will elaborate on:
- How does the forced baseload operation of conventional power plants impact electricity market dynamics and systemic costs?
- What would be Poland’s cost-optimal electricity mix in 2023, assuming the possibility of immediate new infrastructure deployment? How does carbon pricing influence this mix?
The webinar is scheduled for April 24th at 11:00 AM. The transmission will be available on the Zoom platform.
